My name is Mr. Justin Moore and I am the Reading Resource teacher at Engelwood Elementary School. You may have wondered about me and I would like to tell you. Nine years ago my parents, sister, and I moved to Florida from the mountains of North Carolina. I attended high school in Lake County at Leesburg High School and moved to Orlando to attend college. I am a graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Elementary Education (Kindergarten - 6th grade) and an endorsement in teaching Second Language Learners. I completed my master's degree through Florida State University in Educational Leadership & Policy Administration. My licensures include Educational Leadership, Elementary Education, English Grades 6-12, Art K-12, Library Science, and Pre-K through 3rd grade. Starting in the Fall 2009, I will began work on my Reading Endorsement through Orange County Public Schools. In my role as the Reading Resource teacher I do whatever it takes to ensure that the students have the opportunity to expand their knowledge. My focus is to provide prevention/intervention support for general education classroom students. Engelwood has determined that various curricula will include Early Interventions in Reading 1 & 2, Phonemic Awareness, and Reading for Success. I also expect that my students will come to school everyday prepare to learn and ready to put forth the effort to do so. Over the past few years of teaching I have delighted in the opportunity to publish the yearbook, serve on the Student Advisory Council, and coach the Speedy Stangs running team. My experiences have also included the opportunity to serve as the 5th grade team leader at Union Park Elementary School in the 2008-2009 school year. In pursuit of my career aspirations I am working in the Applied Leadership Program through Orange County Public Schools to gain insight and experience in administration. I love to travel whenever the opportunity is available. My travels have taken me to Central and South America over the past few years. In the future I hope to visit a few locations in Europe and Japan. Doing what is best for your child is
